Business Travel Requirements for a Congo, Dem. Rep. Of Visa for Australian Citizens
Processing Time
Due to the Embassy seeking approval from Kinshasa to issue visas, processing times cannot be guaranteed. Please factor this into your travel plans to ensure travel dates can be met.
Passport
The applicant's actual passport. The passport must:
- Have at least two blank visa pages
- Be valid for one year beyond entry date
Photograph(s)
Two identical passport sized colour photographs. The photographs must:
- Be taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper
- Be taken against an all white background
- Be 45mm (h) by 35 mm (w)
- Provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression
- You may wear neither eyeglasses nor headwear except for religious purposes
- Your photos must be paper clipped to the top right corner of the visa application form. Do not glue or staple.
Business Introduction Letter
You are required to provide an original Business Introduction Letter from your Australian-based company. All letters must be printed on company letterhead that displays an Australia mailing address. Use the sample Business Introduction Letter provided at https://visalink.com.au/forms?formname=Business-Introduction-Letter-Sample.pdf using the exact language and format provided in order to prevent a rejection and possible delays with your visa request.
Letter of Invitation
A letter of invitation from the company to be visited. This letter must:
- Be on company letterhead paper
- Be addressed to the applicant
- Include the name of the applicant
- Include the passport details of the applicant
- Specify the purpose of journey
- Match the Business Introduction Letter with regards to the requested number of entries and the length of visa required
- Bear the stamp of the inviting company
- Bear the signature of the inviting party
- Be notorised at the Mayor's office before being certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DGM) or the Bureau of Immigration
- Be in French only
- Be transmitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs direct to the Embassy and confirmed received by the Embassy prior to submission
Please Note: Applicants must confirm that the approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been received by the Embassy prior to visa submission. Applications submitted without prior confirmation from the Embassy will be subject to increased issuing delays.
Proof of Travel Arrangements
Details of travel arrangements. These must be provided as:
- A copy of the flight confirmation
- A copy of the hotel confirmation showing paid in full
Applicants travelling from Australia to an interim destination, arriving at Congo D.R. overland, must provide an original personal statement stamped by the local Direction Generale de Migration and the local Agence Nationale de Reseignement security service explaining the route of travel and including the car registration details.
Proof of Residency
Evidence of residency. This must be provided in the form of a photocopy of the applicants drivers license or a utility bill. The utility bill may not be more than three months old.
Proof of Financial Means
Evidence of available funds. This must be provided as a current non-online bank statement, issued within 3 months, showing:
- A minimum credit balance of at least $60.00 per day of stay, for each applicant
- The applicants full name
Please Note: A credit card statement will not be accepted.
Photocopy of Certain Application Materials
A clear colour copy of the information page(s) from the applicant's passport.

Visa Application Form
One fully completed and signed application form. The form must:
- Be printed single sided
Yellow Fever Certificate
One copy of the applicant's yellow fever certificate
Please note: The original certificate must be carried by the traveller whilst in country for presentation to officials on request

Yes. You will need to send your actual passport, not a copy of it. The Congo, Dem. Rep. Of visa is stamped on your passport and will become one of your passport pages.
